Barbara Thrasher

Barbara Thrasher, VP Program Development

Barbara opened her first retail franchise at the age of 21 and grew it to win the largest sales volume competing against 30,000 other outlets.

She played a leadership role in diversified projects such as creating business plans for major facilities and stimulating economic development for rural communities. She assisted in the startup and growth of over 1000 businesses.

As co-author of national bestseller Smart Women, and contributing writer for newspapers and magazines, Barbara encourages business owners to thrive during change.

Concerned with the #1 bottom line cost in today’s workplaces – the impact of stress – she launched Work-Life Resources Inc. The company supports managers as they master leadership behaviours on the job:  enhancing individual well-being while improving  employees’  performance.

She is a recipient of Global TV’s Women of Vision Award and Canadian Woman Entrepreneur: Impact on the Local Economy.


Alexis Paproski

Alexis Paproski, Program Manager

Alexis has coordinated adult learning programs for over nine years. She supports and coaches managers as they learn to be more effective leaders. She focuses on integrating meaningful communication, integrity, sustainability and cross functional accountability into her clients’ work places.

Alexis developed tracking and measurement systems to support hundreds of leaders in a variety of industries and stages. She has worked in the telecom, tourism, automotive and training industries. She uses her technology and organizational skills to meet her clients’ needs.

Alexis is a graduate of Mount Royal University Human Resource Management, Adult Learning Education and holds her Project Management Certificate.


Lorna Jones

Lorna Jones, Finance

Lorna uses her people and financial skills to ensure all Work-Life’s clients are well looked after.

She is graduate of the U of S, with a B. A.  in Economics and articled for two years. Lorna continues to add to her skills and knowledge in both the financial and holistic health areas. She has been a successful entrepreneur and worked in a variety of industries.

Dave Redekopp

Dave Redekopp

As a keynote speaker and author, Dave has spoken for such prestigious organizations as the National Consultation on Career Development and the International Association of Women Police. His articles are published in Cognica and CareersInFocus.

An international leadership and career development specialist, he has developed and implemented results driven programs ranging in scope from Interactive Leadership (adapted by the RCMP with measurable reductions in grievances and absenteeism), to Everyday Coaching (producing an average 22% increase in productivity in an international energy company) to Passion Based Hiring (tested by one of Britain’s most successful construction companies).

Dave devoted  a decade to building better career concepts and workplace practices.  He is a principal partner of the Life-Role Development Group,  a national career development and leadership firm based in Edmonton.  He manages the research and product initiatives, and trains career development practitioners and organizational leaders across Canada.

Dave holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Psychology.  He won Alberta’s Career Development Award of Excellence (1996), the national Stu Conger Award for Leadership in Career Counseling and Career Development (1997) and the Ontario School Counselors Association’s President’s Award (1999). Dave is also a Governor of the Canadian Career Development Foundation and a Past Director of the Canada Career Consortium.

Don MacInnis

Don MacInnis

Don coaches leaders on personal  and professional effectiveness and accountability in the midst of rapid change. They can then plan and take charge of  areas where they have influence and control,  to envision and create a thriving workplace.  He has contributed to successful individual, team and organizational changes in numerous organizations.

Don worked in the energy sector for 16 years as a leader of Training & Development and Organization Development.  As the Senior Advisor, Organization Development, he coached leaders and employees through the process of downsizing and rebuilding cultures as major rationalization occurred in the oil patch.Don has been the principle of MacInnis & Assoc Consulting & Coaching since 1988. He has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Education from the University of Calgary and a Masters degree in Organization Development from the University of Pepperdine.

Ann Perodeau

Ann Perodeau

Ann has a BA in Psychology with a qualitative research-based MA degree from the University of Calgary.   Her consulting practice primarily consists of developing and facilitating learning for organizational needs across oil and gas and all other sectors for over 15 years.

Ann’s philosophy of supporting the growth of others with and towards integrity has included teaching at two Canadian universities, leading change initiatives using Appreciative Inquiry and coaching leaders with Work-Life Resources.

In the fall of 2010, she was honoured by the MBA learners of Royal Roads University for her online work as “The Distance Instructor Who Inspired and Challenged Us Most.”


David Rodgers

David Rodgers

David has guided hundreds of internal change agents, leaders and executives in the successful implementation of Accountability-Based leadership, team and change systems. His client list includes: Kaiser Permanente, Intermountain Health Care, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, St. Charles Medical Center, Chevron, Shell Oil, Pacific Bell, Pacific Gas & Electric, US Navy, Experian, Harris Corporation, Golden State Foods, Patagonia and World Vision.

David presented for the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Association for Quality and Productivity (AQP), the Organizational Development Network (ODN) and the EPA Professionals Association. He also gives leadership and keynote presentations for Fortune 500 companies.

David holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, California, and is currently working on his doctoral thesis. David held the position of Executive Director for a non-profit international peace organization.

Wayne Boss

Wayne Boss

Wayne is the founding Partner of Boss Consulting Inc. and has worked with executive leadership teams of large multi-stakeholder oil sands projects, oil and gas companies, health care organizations, and telecommunications companies. Wayne specializes in the area of collaboration, alignment and personal accountability.

His focus is helping leaders create productive and healthy workplaces based on respect, trust and mutual success. He has developed and delivered programs for a diverse base of clients in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.

Wayne has over 35 years of experience, including leadership roles in Human Resources, Staff Development, Organizational Development, Executive Development and Executive Coaching. Wayne has a BA, BEd, and an MSc in Counselling. He is a Registered Psychologist.



Kristen Cumming

Kristen Cumming

Kristen Cumming works as a speaker and trainer focused on career development, work force engagement and performance management. Her 17 years experience in career development is complemented by a passion for demography that has fuelled work in recruitment, orientation programming and retention of human resources.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and is completing a Master of Education degree in Workplace and Adult Learning. Kristen is a sessional Instructor for the University of Alberta – Augustana Campus.
